Course Summary
- AP Cybersecurity trains students in the field and aligns closely with standard first-year collegiate cybersecurity courses. Students explore defense-in-depth strategies and learn to address specific vulnerabilities, attacks, mitigations, and detection measures across a variety of domains, including physical spaces, computer networks, devices, applications, and data. Developed in partnership with college faculty and industry leaders, this yearlong course aligns with the NICE Workforce Framework.
- Students have the option to take the AP Cybersecurity test at the end of the year ($99, 3 IT college credits).
- Students will need an account on https://apcentral.collegeboard.org for exam preparation and other tools, even if they do not plan on taking the AP exam.

- For test retakes, you can earn up to 50% of the points back by redoing the questions you missed or turning in the equivalent assignment provided. Materials to Bring
- Somewhere to keep papers from class (folder, binder, etc.)
Behavior Expectations
- All policies found at https://www.meritprepacademy.org/policies will be honored. A notable change across Merit this year is the phones and electronics policy, where phones must be out of sight and silent bell to bell. Zero-tolerance.

- Classroom Values
- Spirit - Exemplify high character, respect, and love.
- Opportunity - Seize the moment to try new things.
- Curiosity - Engage in scientific inquiry with child-like wonder.
- Perseverance - Be resilient and finish strong!
